It's easy to access the many high tech employment centers in nearby Silicon Valley via an expanded freeway system and the Caltrain commuter station. Improvements in nearby Gilroy will make for an easier commute for some of Morgan Hills commuters coming home from the north as traffic to the south is relieved.

A $23 million project that was recently approved will allow for several major improvements to Highway 152 between Pacheco Pass and Highway 101 in the Gilroy. Improvements to the Highway 101 and Highway 152 interchange will widen a section of Highway 152 from two lanes to four, and install traffic signals at Frazier Lake Road, Furlong Avenue, and Ferguson Road. Much of the widening project is expected to be completed by early 2003. The completion date for the traffic signals is the fall of 2004. The project is being funded by a half-cent sales tax that Santa Clara County voters approved in 1996.
